Acceptance & Eligibility

By downloading, installing, registering for, or using the RideX Passenger App or RideX Driver App (collectively, "Apps"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Apps.

Passenger Eligibility

• At least 18 years of age with a valid Indian mobile number
• Provide accurate registration information and have the legal capacity to enter binding contracts

Driver Eligibility

• At least 21 years of age with a valid Indian driving licence for the vehicle category
• Valid vehicle registration, insurance, and any permits required by Indian law
• Pass RideX's background verification and document review; have a valid bank account

The RideX Platform

RideX is a technology platform — not a transportation company. We provide software that connects passengers with independent driver-partners. Drivers are independent contractors, not employees or agents of RideX. The actual transportation service is provided by drivers who use the RideX Driver App.

User Accounts

You must create an account to use the Apps and agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@ridexapp.com if you suspect unauthorised use. Each person may register only one Passenger account and one Driver account. Creating duplicate or fraudulent accounts may result in permanent suspension.

Your phone number is verified via OTP at registration. Drivers must additionally complete document verification before going online.

Ride Booking

When a passenger submits a ride request, it is broadcast to nearby available drivers. A ride is confirmed only when a driver accepts. Drivers are not obligated to accept any request and RideX does not guarantee driver availability. Drop-off locations may be updated before or during a ride; fare adjustments apply automatically. If a passenger does not arrive at the pickup within a reasonable waiting period (typically 5 minutes after driver arrival), the driver may cancel and a no-show fee may apply.

Ride OTP Verification

For every confirmed ride, RideX generates a unique 6-digit Ride Confirmation OTP as a safety measure:

• After a driver accepts, the OTP is displayed on the passenger's screen.
• The passenger shares this OTP verbally with the driver at the pickup location.
• The driver enters the OTP into the Driver App to start the trip — if it does not match, the trip cannot start.
• OTPs are single-use and expire when the ride ends or is cancelled.

Fares and Payments

Fares are calculated based on base fare, distance, duration, and applicable surge pricing (shown before booking). RideX accepts credit/debit cards via Stripe, UPI, and cash where applicable. Payment is processed automatically at the end of each completed ride. Drivers receive earnings minus the RideX service fee per the payout schedule in the Driver App. Fare disputes must be raised within 48 hours via in-app support.

Fee Types

• Base fare: Fixed starting amount per ride
• Per kilometre & per minute rates: Based on vehicle category and city
• Surge multiplier: Applied during high-demand periods (shown before booking)
• Cancellation fee: Applies if cancelled after driver is assigned and en route
• Waiting fee: May apply after the grace period at pickup

Cancellations

Passenger

• You may cancel before the driver accepts at no charge.
• After acceptance, cancellation fees apply after a grace period (typically 2 minutes).
• Repeated cancellations may result in temporary booking restrictions.

Driver

• Drivers may cancel an accepted ride before reaching pickup, subject to conduct guidelines.
• Repeated cancellations may affect their account standing and platform access.

RideX

RideX may cancel a ride in exceptional circumstances (safety concerns, system errors, Terms violations). No cancellation fee will be charged to the passenger in such cases.

Passenger Conduct

As a passenger, you agree to:

• Treat drivers with respect and courtesy at all times
• Share the correct 6-digit Ride OTP with your assigned driver at pickup
• Wear a seatbelt during the ride as required by law
• Not ask the driver to violate traffic laws or engage in illegal activities
• Not damage the driver's vehicle — you are liable for cleaning or repair costs if damage occurs
• Not consume alcohol or controlled substances in the vehicle
• Not bring prohibited items (weapons, illegal substances, hazardous materials) into the vehicle
• Not engage in harassment, abuse, or threatening behaviour toward drivers
• Allow only the legally permitted number of passengers in the vehicle

Driver Obligations

As a driver-partner, you agree to:

• Maintain a valid driving licence, vehicle registration, insurance, and required permits
• Keep your vehicle in a safe, clean, and roadworthy condition
• Verify the passenger's 6-digit Ride OTP before starting every trip — do not start without OTP verification
• Follow the App-suggested route or a reasonable alternative with passenger consent
• Treat passengers with respect and professionalism at all times
• Not discriminate against passengers based on race, religion, gender, disability, or any protected characteristic
• Not use a mobile phone while driving, except through hands-free systems
• Not drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing medication
• Report any accidents, incidents, or safety concerns to RideX immediately

Ratings and Reviews

After each completed ride, both passengers and drivers may rate each other on a 1–5 star scale and leave optional comments. Ratings are averaged over time and visible to the other party. Drivers with consistently low ratings may be warned, suspended, or removed from the platform. Passengers with consistently low ratings may be restricted from booking certain ride types. Fraudulent ratings are prohibited.

Prohibited Activities

You must not use the Apps to:

• Impersonate any person, entity, or falsely represent your identity
• Create fake accounts, manipulate ratings, or game the matching system
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose, including transportation of illegal goods
• Collect or harvest other users' personal data without their consent
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Apps
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Apps or servers
• Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to interact with the Apps
• Circumvent payment processing or solicit passengers to book rides outside the platform

Violations may result in immediate account suspension, permanent ban, and legal action.

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Apps — including the RideX name, logo, software, designs, text, and graphics — are the exclusive property of RideX Technologies and are protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Apps solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

Liability & Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RideX provides the platform on an "as is" basis without warranties. RideX is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Apps or the transportation services provided by drivers. RideX's total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to RideX in the 3 months preceding the event.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RideX Technologies, its officers, directors, and employees from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising out of your use or misuse of the Apps, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party rights.

Termination

You may terminate your account at any time via the Account Deletion page or by contacting support@ridexapp.com. RideX may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms, fraudulent or abusive activity, or failure to maintain eligibility requirements. Upon termination, your right to use the Apps ceases immediately. Outstanding payments remain due. Data retention follows our Privacy Policy.

Governing Law, Changes & Contact

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India. We encourage you to contact us at support@ridexapp.com to resolve any disputes informally before initiating formal proceedings.

Changes to Terms: RideX may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify you via push notification or in-app alert. Your continued use of the Apps after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
